9 mo Stats (and redic pics)

Last week I took the day off of work to spend some extra time with Marshall and take him to his 9 month check up. He's 17.5 pounds (40th percentile), and 27.5 inches (5th percentile). He's been pretty consistent with the 40th percentile in weight (according to the WHO breastfed chart), and dropped pretty significantly in height. I'm not too worried about it because measuring a squirming baby is def not an exact science so he could easily be taller, and if he's not, we'll I'm a shortie and Jerad is only 5' 10"ish so its not like any child of ours is going to be a giant.

Anyways, he got a clean bill of health, still hasn't been sick or had a diaper rash and was a little ham to Dr. Tiffany. The midwife who delivered him is also a naturopathic Dr. and that's who we see so its fun because she's been seeing him literally since before he was born. She asked if he was saying any words yet, and he wasn't at the time. Two days later he started saying "hi." Melt my heart.

He had his iron levels tested and they were fine. It was funny because he screamed while she was holding and cleaning his finger, but not when she actually pricked it and squeezed the blood out. That he just wanted to eat.

After the Dr. we went to the park where almost every picture I took turned out completely ridiculous. Allow me to illustrate:

Oh well, I guess even cuties like Marsh have their "off days."

In case you were feeling sorry for my husband...

Jerad works. A lot. Most weeks he is gone at least a day or 2, sometimes 4. Next week probably 5. Personally I feel like he is getting habitual vacations because even though he claims he's working his ass off, in reality he's eating out, spending the night in hotels, and living a wife/baby/dog free sleep-through-the-night lifestyle. I digress.

Anyways, on Monday he had a final inspection in Lompoc. Driving 2 hours each way to meet an inspector blows. So his boss decided to fly him there, and his brother came along too.

Here is Jerad's "work day"

Sunday

Sunday we all slept in until 9. This is big news people! (don't worry, we paid for it later)

Marshall amused us by barking/growling while hopping. I need to post a video to really explain it, but basically he makes this "aaakkk!" sound while sort of bouncing on all fours. Freakin hilarious.

Then he inspected the headboard for a good 20 minutes. Ever since he was a month or so old he's been obsessed with the design on it, and now he can finally reach it. Oh the simple joys.

At 10:00 we walked downtown to my favorite Children's store, Kahuna Kids.

They were having a mega sale (as you can see by the line outside). I picked out some Sarah's Silks for 50% off to hold on to for Marshall later on, and Jerad of course bee-lined for the Melissa and Doug puppets. We added these to Marshall's collection:

While I waited in the huuuuuge line, Jerad and Marshall went to the cafe across the street and bought coffee and pastries. So to recap; sleeping in, shopping, coffee and pastries. Morning Bliss for sure!

I had some books to return to the library so we walked over and did that and let Marshall play at the park for a bit. Then it was time for him to take a nap and us to get some things done around the house. I had it planned perfectly where Marshall would be waking up from his nap right about the time we needed to leave for the Superbowl party we were attending.

I'm sure you can see where this is going right?

Ya, he took about a 1 hr nap. As in, my 3 nap a day sleeper child only took ONE 1hr nap. For the day. Needless to say he was a little clingy and less than amused with the cheering at the party. Or maybe he was just mad because he preferred the Steelers, who knows.

I was busy drinking beer, eating massive amounts of food, er.... watching the commercials game so I didn't take any pictures but Jerad took these which are my favorite:

Baths in utility sinks are apparently pretty fun

And, that's all I have to say about that.
