4th of July part 1

We celebrated the heck out of Independence Day this year, so I'll break it into a few posts.

The Friday before the 4th, we loaded up the kids and headed to the waterslides in Clovis. We've gone almost every year since I was 7 years old and I've been really looking forward to when our kids were old enough to have fun.

We decided to head over a day early so we'd have some time to play at the hotel and make it into a little "mini-vacation."

We spent most of Friday playing in the pool:

Or hanging out poolside:

Saturday we met up with my parents, sisters, brother in law, his sister, and some family friends at the water park. They have a big toddler area and Marshall had a lot of fun on the slides there once he decided to try them:

It took forever for him to slide each time because he doesn't really understand "turns" so he'd get to the top and let like 15 kids go in front of him each time.

After the slides close at dusk, there's a concert.

After the concert there's a huge fireworks show. Both the boys were enthralled... and they both passed out about 5 minutes before it ended.

I can't wait for next year when Miller will be old enough to play too!

Sunday morning we asked for a late checkout and played in the pool until about 2pm. Marshall is such a little water-baby. I hope by next summer we get our landscaping done and put a pool in our backyard!
